Actor Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Telugu film Acharya (2022), which was scheduled to be released on 4 February worldwide, has been postponed to 1 April. This means the movie, which also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Pooja Hegde, will clash with Mahesh Babu’s action-comedy Sarkaru Vaari Paata.

In the wake of the rumours about the film's postponement, the makers of the film made the announcement on Sunday via a new poster.

In the poster, Chiranjeevi is seen walking with an axe in hand in the backdrop of what appears to be a temple festival.

Acharya, as per reports, will be about a middle-aged Maoist-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the endowments department over misappropriation and embezzlement of temple funds and donations.

Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan will share the screen with his father in a full-length role for the first time in Acharya. Chiranjeevi played a special appearance in Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee: The Fighter (2015).

Chiranjeevi has two more projects in the offing. It was recently announced that he will star in the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Vedalam (2015). The project has been titled Bholaa Shankar, and it also stars Keerthy Suresh as his sister.

Chiranjeevi also has an as-yet-untitled Telugu project with director Bobby in the pipeline.
