Bhoothakaalam trailer: An unemployed Shane Nigam senses a supernatural presence in his house

An unemployed young man slowly starts losing all sense of reality in filmmaker Rahul Sadasivan's mystery thriller Bhoothakaalam.

The trailer, which dropped yesterday, shows how the mother-son duo, played by Revathy and Shane Nigam, starts experiencing mysterious events while trying to cope with the death of a family member.

Nigam plays a young man who has acquired a diploma in pharmacy but is unemployed. Slowly it starts to take a toll on his mental health and he starts becoming more reclusive. He also starts experiencing a supernatural presence in the house.

The trailer appears designed to build a mystique around Nigam’s character, giving the impression that the film is primarily his journey. It also hints at the mother-son relationship going through a rough patch. The trailer does a fine job of giving you a fair idea about the film's tone without revealing much about the actual plot.
