Vivek Anand Oberoi and Rohit Bose Roy will be seen together after 15 years in the upcoming short film Verses of War. Produced by Vikaas Gutgutia and Girish Johar, the film has been directed by Prasad Kadam.
A statement from the makers read, “The Prasad Kadam-directed short film traces the unlikely friendship between the Pakistani officer and the PoW [prisoner of war], based on their shared love of poetry. Oberoi plays the brave Indian soldier in the drama and Rohit Roy essays the role of a Pakistani army official.”
The last time Oberoi and Roy shared the screen together was in Sanjay Gupta’s successful crime drama Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007). Oberoi played the gangster Maya Dolas while Roy was seen as his subordinate.
Kadam is known for his previous short film Chuha Billi, which starred Adah Sharma and Anupriya Goenka. One of his upcoming projects is another short film starring Anupam Kher and Aahana Kumra titled Happy Birthday.
Verses of War also stars Shivani Rai. She was previously seen in the Govinda and Varun Sharma-starrer FryDay (2018) and the mini-series I Fell in Love With a Sanki, which is being streamed on MX Player.
Verses of War will be released on FNP Media’s YouTube channel on Republic Day [26 January].
