The Hindi version of the Telugu movie Pushpa: The Rise continued to dominate the box office, making Rs7.75 crore nett over its third weekend, according to the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The Allu Arjun-starrer, however, saw a decline in earnings yesterday. The film made Rs1 crore, a considerable drop from its Sunday figure of Rs3.25 crore. The Hindi version of the crime drama is set to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from 14 January. And it might still fare decently in theatres as no Hindi films are scheduled to be released this week.
Though its numbers are beginning to wane, Pushpa has already achieved greatness at the box office as not many had expected its Hindi version to have such a long and successful run. The grand total of the blockbuster in this language stands at an impressive Rs80.64 crore.
Meanwhile, Kabir Khan’s 83 had an ordinary third weekend where it made Rs3.55 crore, with its Sunday figure being Rs1.50 crore. Its total till Sunday stood at Rs95.67 crore. The Ranveer Singh-starrer will probably touch the Rs100 crore mark but that is hardly an achievement, considering its colossal budget.
The Hollywood superhero film Spider-Man: No Way Home ended its fourth weekend in India at Rs3.10 crore, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeMojo.com. The film, the first to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office amid the pandemic, recently crossed the Rs200 crore mark in the country.
Across the border, the late Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Chhichhore (2019) has become the first Indian film to be released in China after two years. The film earned Rs10.57 crore on its first weekend, as per numbers shared by trade expert Ramesh Bala.
