Badlee trailer: Planet Marathi show is about Marathi-medium schools' fight to survive

Nitin Pawar's show follows a newly appointed teacher's struggle to save his school which has only two students.

After the short teaser which gave a glimpse into the struggle of a newly appointed schoolmaster to save his school, the trailer for the Planet Marathi show Badlee gives us more information about the problems Patil sir (Amol Deshmukh) has to overcome to save the school and encourage villagers to enrol their children.

It's an uphill battle for Patil sir. First of all, the school is on the outskirts of the village on a small hill with no proper approach road. Then the school which should have had nine students is left with just two. And those two are also not interested in studies. Most of the villagers have relocated to cities in search of jobs. And those who have remained are not interested in sending their children to school.

Amidst all this, if Patil sir does not find more students, his school is in danger of being shut down. Unlike the teaser, the trailer features a few more characters. There is a DEd (Diploma in Education) holder who wants to teach in a Marathi-medium school. The picturesque location and beautiful cinematography also grab attention.

Nitin Pawar's Badlee is trying to bring to light the alarming state of Marathi-medium schools fighting for survival. If nothing else, we can hope it will at least start a conversation on this serious topic.

Badlee will be streamed on Planet Marathi OTT from 15 January. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watching the series.
