Amruta Dhongade, Tejas Barve to star in suspense thriller Dishabhool

Amruta Dhongade and Tejas Barve, who shot to fame as a fictional married couple in the Marathi television series Mrs Mukhyamantri, are set to enthral audiences once again. The artistes will star in a Marathi feature film titled Dishabhool.

Helmed by first-time filmmaker Ashish Kailas Jain, the suspense thriller film revolves around the lives of college students. Not much is known about the rest of the cast. 

Speaking about the film, Jain said, "This is a film of today's youth. This is a unique story of college kids and it will have a triune confluence of friendship, romance and suspense thriller (sic)."

Jain revealed that along with Dhongade and Barve, another duo will be seen in the lead in Dishabhool, as well as veteran artistes from the Marathi film industry. 

This is Dhongade's second feature as a lead actress after Prakash Janardan Pawar's Mithun (2018) where she was cast opposite Vishal Nikam. Barve has appeared in films such as Girlfriend (2019) and the web show Baap Beep Baap (2021) and also worked as assistant director on Fatteshikast (2019).

Dishabhool has been produced by Aarti Chavan, Nilesh R, Vinod Naik and Gopal Kadvat. This is the maiden venture of Chavan's Sanvi Productions.

Speaking about making her debut as a  producer, Chavan said, "Dishabhool is the first film of Sanvi Productions. We are happy to begin our new year with a Marathi movie. We are bringing together famous Marathi artistes along with the young Amruta and Tejas and hope that audience will also provide their support."
