Badhaai Do song 'Bandi Tot': Ankit Tiwari and Nikhita Gandhi's vocals put a spring in Bhumi Pednekar's step

The song, which has been composed by the former, features lyrics by Anurag Bhomia.

Shriram Iyengar

In Harshavardhan Kulkarni's Badhaai Do, Bhumi Pednekar's lesbian character derives companionship and confidence from her partner (Chum Darang) while her 'husband', a homosexual (Rajkummar Rao), plays the third wheel in the relationship.

The film, produced by Junglee Entertainment, will be released in theatres on 11 February.

The song begins with the arrival of Chum Darang's 'cousin' into Pednekar and Rao's life. While the neighbours and the world believe the lie, it is Rao's character who has to come to terms with reality. Even as Pednekar's character opens up and embraces freedom, Rao struggles to keep the facade of the marriage going.

The composition by Ankit Tiwari is fresh, upbeat and crackles with mischief. Tiwari and Nikhita Gandhi's vibrant vocals enliven the composition. The sense of freedom and joy is underscored by the rhythm and the steady percussion.

Anurag Bhomia's lyrics are perfectly in sync with the \couple's life and times and put a fun spin on the usual romance.

Badhaai Do will be released in theatres on 11 February 2022.
