The romantic drama Uljhe Hue, which stars Sanjana Sanghi and Abhay Verma, will be released on Amazon miniTV ahead of Valentine’s Day. It will be available for free on the Amazon shopping app from 11 February.
Sanghi made her feature film debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Dil Bechara (2020).
A statement from the makers read, “The short film beautifully captures the romantic chronicles of two youngsters – Rasika and Varun. This riveting tale revolves around how Rasika, an introverted visual artist, bumps into Varun, a lawyer, after being stood up on a date. They happen to chit chat and bond a bit more than strangers usually do. Will they find the courage to reach out for love or will they be too shy and hide their feelings? Uljhe Hue will answer the rest.”
Uljhe Hue has been directed by Satish Raj Kasireddi. Apart from a few short films, he also directed one of the films in the anthology Shor Se Shuruaat (2016). He has assisted filmmaker Imtiaz Ali in Jab We Met (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Rockstar (2011).
Speaking about the film, he said in a statement, “Uljhe Hue is a love story that audiences will be able to relate to and cherish. The short film has been created by highly credible artists and captures the pulse of modern-day romance. Amazon miniTV’s wide presence will certainly take our work of passion far and wide this Valentine’s Day.”
Interestingly, the film has been written by Imtiaz Ali’s daughter Ida Ali and produced by Ahab Jafri for Lockdown Shorts Studio.
Girish Prabhu, head of Amazon Advertising, said, “It is our absolute delight to collaborate with Lockdown Shorts Studio and present this cute love story to our audiences, celebrating the week of romance. Audiences across India will be able to enjoy this short film absolutely free on Amazon’s shopping app.”
