A classic case of Murder She Wrote (1984) or Misery (1990) takes a twist with Mukul Abhyankar's upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, Bestseller.

Featuring Arjan Bajwa, Gauahar Khan, Shruti Haasan, Mithun Chakraborty and Satyadeep Dubey, the series will be streamed on Prime Video from 18 February.

The trailer begins with the sight of Tahir Wazir (Arjan Bajwa) struggling to come up with his next bestseller. "Wannabe Chetan Bhagat," he calls himself despondently.

Yet, a breakthrough arrives in the form of Meetu (Shruti Haasan) at a coffee shop. Armed with scars from the past, Meetu begins to unravel threads of her own story. An aspiring writer, she latches on to find her own way to writing success.

Unknown to them both, there is a stalker bent on destroying Wazir and everyone close to him. At about the same time, Parth Acharya (Satyajeet Dubey) joins his wife Mayanka (Gauahar Khan), a celebrated ad film director, as her assistant, but looks to have something against Wazir. As the chaos goes out of hand, ACP Lokesh (Mithun Chakraborty) steps in to investigate the mystery.

The trailer is intriguing, filled with sudden reveals that trigger curiosity. Abhyankar makes his directorial debut with this series after writing the thriller Missing (2018), starring Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee.

Bestseller has the grips and a novel cast with Arjan Bajwa, Shruti Haasan and Mithun Chakraborty teaming up. Written by Althea Kushal and writer-director Anvita Dutt, the series promises an inviting premise on the trope of writers finding reality harder to deal with than fiction.

The series is produced by Alchemy LLP, Siddharth P Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this series.
