The teaser of Nagraj Manjule’s sports drama Jhund does exactly what a teaser should do – give a taste of the film and its characters so that you keenly await the trailer.
Football is a part of the film but the teaser gives more than an indication that music will also play a major role. In fact, Ajay-Atul’s theme impresses you right at the onset and the tune refuses to leave your mind, in a good way.
Due to his advanced years, Amitabh Bachchan has been playing character roles for more than two decades now. But his entry in the teaser is very much like that of a young hero, bringing to mind his roles from his heyday. The veteran actor’s body language is calm yet determined.
The story takes place in a slum, which reminds you of the world of Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy (2019), especially towards the end when kids who are dressed like rappers are seen.
Jhund markets Manjule’s Hindi film debut and his latest project after Sairat (2016), the biggest Marathi blockbuster of all time.
Produced by T-Series, Tandav Films and Aatpaat and distributed by Zee Studios, Jhund will be released in theatres on 4 March.
Check out the teaser and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
