Salman Khan’s next big-ticket film, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, finally has a new release date. The movie will be released on Eid in 2023, which falls on 21 or 22 April.

The news was shared by veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is directed by Farhad Samji, one half of the earlier duo of writers Sajid-Farhad.

This is the first time Farhad is directing Khan. He, in collaboration with Sajid, wrote a film for the actor a decade ago, Anees Bazmee’s Ready (2011), which was a hit.

Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali stars Pooja Hegde opposite Khan. This is her second film under Farhad’s direction after Housefull 4 (2019), the writer-director's previous film. Farhad also has the Akshay Kumar-starrer Bachchan Pandey lined up for release on 18 March.

Sharing the reason for casting Hegde, Nadiadwala had told the now defunct publication Mumbai Mirror in 2020, “Having worked with Pooja in Housefull 4, we felt she was the perfect fit for this film. She has an amazing screen presence and will make for a good pair with Salman. They will bring freshness to the story.”
