Recently, Rannvijay Singha quit the popular reality show MTV Roadies after a long association with the programme. He has been replaced by actor Sonu Sood, who has been in the news during the pandemic for helping stranded migrant labourers in cities return to their hometowns.

This is the first time that Sood is hosting a TV show. The 18th season of Roadies will take place in South Africa.

Speaking about his association with the show, Sood said in a statement, “MTV Roadies depicts the phenomenal spirit of the youth, who dare to challenge their limits. The new season is going to be high on adrenaline and adventure and will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. The show comes with an infectious energy; something that’ll inspire me at every step to push my limits as well. I am thrilled to host the upcoming season and take the contestants through this South African expedition.”

The makers of the show said in a statement, “Renowned for his action and adventure roles on the big screen and a humanitarian spirit off-screen, Sonu Sood’s aura personifies the perfect blend of strength and positivity, charisma and gumption; a combination that also marks the true spirit of a Roadie.”

As far as movies are concerned, Sood will next be seen with Akshay Kumar in Yash Raj Films’ Prithviraj. He also has Fateh in the pipeline where he will be seen in an action hero avatar.
