A week before the theatrical release of Makarand Mane's drama Soyrik (2022), the makers have released a two-and-a-half-minute trailer that gives us a better look at the film's main conflict.
Nitish Chavan and Manasi Bhavalkar's characters have eloped and registered their marriage in court without informing their family members.
Instead of supporting them, however, a police inspector (Shashank Shende) calls their families to the police station.
Both families are dead set against the marriage and the police station turns into a battleground between the newlyweds and their folks. The bride's short-tempered brother will not even hesitate to kill his sister. The groom's family is equally livid.
Meanwhile, under pressure from their families, the couple begin to mistrust each other and soon a blame game begins.
Soyrik marks the feature film debut of its lead pair, Nitish Chavan and Manasi Bhavalkar. It also stars younger as well as senior artistes like Kishor Kadam, Chhaya Kadam and Virat Madake.
From the trailer it appears that the entire film takes place in one location, the police station premises. The trailer looks impressive and promises an intriguing drama that will explore both sides of the argument.
Soyrik is the second project to be backed by Bahurupi Productions, which was founded by Mane and actors Shantanu Gangane and Shashank Shende.
The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on 11 February. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
