The Tarsem Jassar- and Wamiqa Gabbi-starrer Punjabi-language film Galwakdi has got a new release date: 8 April.

The film was earlier scheduled to be released on 31 December 2021, but the release was postponed on account of the rise in number of COVID-19 cases across the country and the shutdown of cinema halls in Delhi barely three days ahead of the release.

Jassar shared the news on Instagram, echoing the sentiments of his fans, who had been enquiring about the film's release. He said good things come to those who wait and added that he was quite certain audiences will enjoy the film.

“Lao ji, Galwakdi di new tareek, tareekh pe tareekh," he wrote.

Directed by Sharan Art, the film's story is by Randeep Chahal while the screenplay and dialogues are by Jagdeep Singh Warring. Producers Manpreet Johal, Ashu Munish Sahni, Savin Sarin and Aniket Kawade have joined hands on the production.

Previously, Omjee Star Studios had announced New Year's eve as the release date for Galwakdi and 14 January 2022 for the film Main Te Bapu. While the former now has a fresh date, Main Te Bapu awaits its announcement.
