Mainak Bhaumik’s upcoming film Mini, starring Mimi Chakraborty and child actress Ayanna Chatterjee, will be released in theatres on 6 May.
Produced by actress-turned-producer Sampurna Lahiri’s Small Taalk Ideas, Mini features Mithu Chakraborty, Saptarshi Moulik and Kamalika Banerjee.
The announcement of the release date was made via an adorable poster.
Mini revolves around the titular character (Chatterjee) and her maternal aunt Titli (Mimi), an independent career-oriented woman.
In the film, Titli’s life takes an unexpected turn when she is suddenly handed the responsibility of taking care of her niece. As Titli learns to cope with the situation, a beautiful friendship forms between the two, blurring the boundary of age.
Mini marks Bhaumik's first collaboration with Mimi as a director. The director had written Birsa Dasgupta’s Crisscross (2018), which starred the actress.
