The mystery drama Chehre, directed by Rumy Jafry and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, was released in cinemas in August 2021.
The film, which is now being streamed on Amazon Prime Video, saw a lacklustre response from the audience and received mixed reviews from critics as well.

Producer Anand Pandit, however, is eager to make a sequel. "Rumyji has been talking about his keen interest in exploring the story further and I think it has the potential to grow in multiple directions," Pandit said.
People discouraged me from making Chehre but Amitabh Bachchan was in my corner, says Rumy Jafry
"We don't regret releasing the film during the pandemic because you must take risks if you want to grow and learn, but yes, there is something more that we can do with the premise. We would love to make a sequel if Rumyji can come up with the right story."
Pandit said making Chehre was an unforgettable experience and he is confident everyone involved with the project would be happy to be a part of the sequel. "Be it Amitji or Emraan, everyone has had only good things to say about the film, and what would be more exciting than to go through another exciting creative journey together?"
