Bheemla Nayak review: Pawan Kalyan's film is an overly commercialized remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum
As per the portal AndhraBoxOffice, the film has grossed Rs76.5 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone. In Karnataka, the film grossed a massive Rs10.6 crore while it minted Rs15.4 crore in the US.
The film is the official remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020), which revolves around the titular Ayyappan Nair (Biju Menon) and Koshy Kurian (Prithviraj), who lock horns over an incident and their egos take them down a wild path. The former character is a policeman with an unblemished record while the latter is a retired army havaldar, who had served for 16 years.
Pawan Kalyan will be seen as the titular character, which is based on Ayyappan Nair, while Rana Daggubati plays his nemesis, Daniel Shekar.
Bheemla Nayak, which has been produced by Sithara Entertainments and features music by SS Thaman, also stars Nithya Menen, Murali Sharma and Samyuktha Menon.
The film is all set to be remade in Tamil with Sasikumar and Sarath Kumar. Producer Kathiresan has acquired the Tamil remake rights.
