The theatrical release of Kangana Ranaut's action entertainer Dhaakad (2022) has now been pushed back to 27 May 2022.

Ranaut features as a spy, Agent Agni, in the thriller directed by Razneesh Ghai.

The makers shared the new date for the film's theatrical release on social media.

Produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai, the film will also be released in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. In addition to Ranaut, the film stars Divya Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Saswata Chatterjee.

Filming for Dhaakad, which has been shot in Budapest in Hungary and in Madhya Pradesh, began in 2019 and the film was originally expected to hit the screens in time for Diwali 2020.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused production delays and early last year the film's release was pushed back to October 2021. In October, the makers announced that the film would be released on 8 April 2022.

Sharing pictures from the film with the announcement, Ranaut wrote, "The unstoppable force of Agent Agni is fast approaching!"

Dhaakad is presented by Soham Rockstar Entertainment Pvt Ltd, in association with Kamal Mukut, Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum Films.
