Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is the narrator for Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's upcoming film Radhe Shyam.

Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the multi-lingual film is set in the 1970s, with Prabhas playing a celebrity palmist.

The film is produced by UV Creations and T-Series with AA Films India and is scheduled for release in theatres on 11 March.

The film has been shot extensively in Italy, Georgia and Hyderabad, and boasts of state-of-the-art visual effects.

About the decision to have Bachchan as the narrator, director Radha Krishna Kumar said, "The film is set in the 1970s and mounted on a massive scale, and we needed a voice that could command the nation, and who better than Mr Amitabh Bachchan, a voice that everyone recognizes, respects and, more importantly, loves. We are so happy to have him as Radhe Shyam’s narrator.”

The film was initially slated for release on the eve of the Sankranti festival in January but postponed in view of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the country. The film has been made on a budget of about Rs150 crore and shooting was completed in November 2020.

Earlier this month, the makers announced the decision to release the film on 11 March. The film will have a simultaneous global release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
