Sharing his thoughts on the film being wrapped up, Pulkit wrote on Facebook, “As we wrap a start to end 39-day schedule for Bhakshak, we promise to bring a spine chilling tale of an atrocious crime against women and their fight for justice (sic).”
Bhakshak is reportedly based on the case where girls were allegedly raped and tortured at a shelter home run by an NGO in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, which came to light in 2018. The film also stars Sai Tamhankar, Sanjay Mishra and Aditya Srivastava.
Pulkit, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed Maroon (2017), battled cancer after the release of Bose: Dead / Alive. He then went on to helm the film Dedh Bigha Zameen, which stars Pratik Gandhi and is yet to be released.
