Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri is back with another 'untold' story with The Kashmir Files, which is based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in 1990.
The trailer begins with the cold and chilling confession by Chinmay Mandlekar's character that he has killed 20, maybe 25, members of the Pandit community. The dark and haunting trailer lands us right in the middle of the tragedy. There is sheer terror and panic in the Kashmir valley as extremists led by Mandlekar's character show no mercy to even little children.
From protests by the Kashmiri Pandits for their rights to the merciless, brutal killing of hundreds of innocent citizens, the three-minute trailer not only captures the pain and agony of the community, but also showcases its will as it puts up a fight for justice.
Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumaar play radicals who are demanding sovereignty and aazaadi (freedom) from the Indian state..Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakaraborty, Atul Srivastava and Puneet Issar also play pivotal roles.
Produced by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri with Zee Studios, The Kashmir Files is set to be released in theatres on 11 March 2022. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
