Director Chandresh Bhatt’s Prem Prakaran is an old-school romantic film the likes of which used to be a staple in Hindi cinema. It evokes nostalgia while telling a tale we all have witnessed numerous times not just in movies but also daily soaps.

The trailer starts off in a village in Gujarat. Aditya (Gaurav Paswala) falls in love with his schoolmate Aarti (Deeksha Joshi) but is hesitant to confess his feelings. But all hell breaks loose when his family finds out the truth. He has a fight with them and leaves the village for Ahmedabad.

Gradually, he becomes a musical sensation in the city. Over here, another girl (Esha Kansara) enters his life and the two fall in love. Aditya feels he has put his past behind but it catches up with him when Aarti re-enters his life.

Prem Prakaran doesn’t tell a novel story but it seems that it is presented in a new-age manner. It is refreshing to see the innocent side of love in times of sexual promiscuity. Amit Trivedi's music also helps create the desired effect.

Paswala and Joshi their respective roles and look good as a pair. Kansara seems to have acted well too.

But the issue with the trailer is that it shows us the entire film in almost three minutes, including the twists in the second half. This is something that mainstream Hindi cinema has been doing a lot in recent years.

Prem Prakaran will be released in theatres on 11 March.

Check out the trailer and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
