Release of Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 postponed to 20 May

The makers of the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 have announced the new release date of their project. The film — which was originally slated to arrive in theatres on 25 March — will be out on 20 May. 

This announcement came just two days after SS Rajamouli announced that his magnum opus would arrive in cinemas on 25 March. With this postponement, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has averted a clash with RRR.

The horror-comedy, which has been directed by Anees Bazmee and written by Farhad Samji, was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film was initially scheduled to hit the screens in July 2020. Its release was then postponed to 19 November 2021, and then to 25 March 2022.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, the film marks the third collaboration between Kartik Aaryan and the banner after their success with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019).

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the sequel to Priyadarshan's horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), which stars Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan.
