The first season of the SonyLIV show Undekhi (2020) started off with the murder of a dancer by the arrogant and brash Papaji (Harsh Chhaya), head of the Atwal family, during the lavish wedding of his son Daman (Ankur Rathee). The event is captured on camera by a team of student filmmakers who are covering the wedding.
The rest of the story was about how Papaji’s foster son Rinku (Surya Sharma) goes to great lengths to save his father from getting caught. The story ends with the cat-and-mouse game underway.
The second season of Undekhi, going by the trailer, continues from that point. Rinku is hell-bent on finishing off Koyal (Apeksha Porwal), one of the dancers who witnessed the murder. But Daman’s fiancée Teji (Anchal Singh) is equally determined to save Koyal and ensure that Papaji and Rinku go behind bars.
The trailer for the second season brings back memories of the well-made first season. This season promises the same thrill along with some doses of humour from the character of the cop Ghosh (Dibyendu Bhattacharya). The rest of the cast like Chhaya, Sharma, Porwal, Anchal Singh and Rathee seem to have continued from where they left off in the first season.
The second season, directed by Ashish R Shukla, also introduces two new characters played by Nandish Singh Sandhu and Meiyang Chang.
Undekhi (Season 2), produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Banijay Asia, will be streamed from 4 March on SonyLIV. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch this web-series.
