"We have completed the shooting as well as post-production of the film," the director told Cinestaan.com. "If everything goes to plan, we will bring this film to audiences in the next four or five months."
The film will revolve around the famous encounter at Pratapgad near Satara where the young Shivaji got the better of the feared Adilshahi general Afzal Khan.
The makers have not yet revealed details about the cast but Ajay Purkar, who played Tanaji in Lanjekar's Fatteshikast (2019) — and is playing Baji Prabhu Deshpande in Pawankhind — told Cinestaan.com that he would be reprising the Maratha general's role for Sher Shivraj Hai. "Though I'm playing Baji Prabhu Deshpande in Pawankhind, I will be again seen in the role of Tanaji for our next project, Sher Shivraj Hai," Purkar said.
