Kaushik Ganguly to play wheelchair-bound detective in Nirjhar Mitra's web-series Shikarpur

National award-winning director and actor Kaushik Ganguly will be seen in Nirjhar Mitra’s upcoming web-series Shikarpur.

Ganguly is also the presenter of the series, which will feature Ankush Hazra and television actress Sandipta Sen.

According to Anya Samay, an entertainment supplement of the Bengali newspaper Ei Samay, Ganguly will be seen as former ace detective Dindayal Biswas, who is wheelchair-bound.

Hazra will be seen as a small-town boy, who solves small cases until he gets handed a complicated one and seeks the help of his inspiration Dindayal.

Sen will play the love interest of Hazra in the series.

Mitra was quoted as saying, “Kaushik Da liked the story, and during the discussion process, he also agreed to present the series. The show will be shot in unexplored locations in North Bengal and Kolkata.”

The series is likely to be released on a popular streaming platform.

Shikarpur will go on the floors towards the end of February.
