Dwitiyo Purush, Borunbabur Bondhu, Binisutoy win big at WBFJA Awards

Anik Dutta’s Borunbabur Bondhu (2020), Srijit Mukerji’s Dwitiyo Purush (2020) and Atanu Ghosh’s Binisutoy (2021) were the big winners at the West Bengal Film Journalists’ Association (WBFJA) Awards.

The combined 2020 and 2021 edition of the event, which had been delayed due to the pandemic, was held on 13 February at Priya Cinema in Kolkata.

The Best Film award went to Borunbabur Bondhu and Atanu Ghosh’s Binisutoy while Dutta and Ghosh bagged the Best Director award for their respective films.

Dwitiyo Purush fetched Parambrata Chatterjee the award for Best Actor Male of 2020. The award was jointly won by Saswata Chatterjee for Chobiyal (2020). Actor Anirban Bhattacharya won the award for the Most Popular Actor of 2020 for his portrayal of Khoka in the film. Dwitiyo Purush also won the award for the Most Popular Film of 2020.

Binisutoy fetched artistes Ritwick Chakraborty and Jaya Ahsan the Best Male Actor and Best Female Actor of 2021 awards. Aparajita Adhya won the award for the Best Actor Female of 2020 for Cheeni.

Veteran actors Victor Banerjee and Dipankar De were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Awards.
