Alia Bhatt's maiden production venture Darlings to be released directly on digital platform?

While Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the theatrical release of her upcoming period drama Gangubai Kathiawadi, her maiden production venture, Darlings, is likely to skip theatres and be premiered on an over-the-top (OTT) platform. 

"Although nothing is confirmed yet, Darlings will possibly come on OTT," the actress revealed during the recent media interaction. According to some reports, the film will be released on Netflix, but Bhatt did not confirm this.

The dark comedy, which also stars the artiste, as well as Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma, has been directed by Jasmeet K Reen. The film has been co-produced by Bhatt's home banner Eternal Sunshine Productions and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Darlings went on the floors in July last year and the shoots was wrapped up by September.

Apart from these projects, Bhatt will be seen in SS Rajamauli's magnum opus RRR, which is scheduled to be released on 25 March and the superhero film Brahmastra which will be out on 9 September.
