Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nupur Sanon begin shooting for Noorani Chehra

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nupur Sanon will kick off Valentine's Day 2022 with the first schedule of their romantic comedy, Noorani Chehra.

Directed by Navaniat Singh, the film is being produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak's Panorama Studios and Wild River Pictures in association with Pulp Fiction Entertainment.

The makers released the first look poster of the film, featuring their lead duo, on 14 February. 

Kumar Mangat Pathak, MD, Panorama Studios, said, "The idea was to make a movie that gives the audience something to laugh about as well as think about. In times when subjects like skin colour, body positivity and baldness have emerged in mainstream storytelling, it was time for a film to tackle a subject about looks head-on and share a worthy message! We are happy to announce the fresh pairing of Nawazuddin and Nupur for this unique romance.”

Siddiqui said, "It’s a film that holds up a mirror to one of society’s biggest misconceptions and sends out a message that looks are a matter of perception." He went on to say, "Europeans think I am handsome, while in India, the parameters of ‘beauty’ are different." 

The film marks director Navaniat Singh's return to Hindi comedy. The filmmaker helmed the comedy Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se (2018), starring Dharmendra Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Since then, he directed a Punjabi film, Singham (2019), and produced another one, Kala Shah Kala (2019). 

Speaking about Noorani Chehra, he said, "I am happy about the way everything has fallen in place. I loved the story and I am thrilled that Nawaz and Nupur have liked it as much. They are the most mismatched couple I could have found who will turn out to be the perfect match. And V-Day is the best day to get started."

Nupur Sanon, sister of actress Kriti Sanon, will be making her film debut with Noorani Chehra. She said, "Outer beauty attracts, but inner beauty captivates.” And that succulently sums up Noor and Hiba’s ‘different’ love story."

Noorani Chehra is being produced by Pathak, Aarushi Malhotra, Nandini Sharma, Neeta Shah and Bharatkumar Shah.
