The trailer of the upcoming Amazon Prime Video original film Family Pack comes across as confusing with little hints of entertainment.
Directed by Arjun Kumar S, the supernatural comedy sees Likith Shetty’s character, Abhi, trying to impress his love interest with the help of a ghost, played by veteran actor Rangayana Raghu. The film also features Amrutha Iyengar.
Abhi's parents are separated and he is fed up with the way he is treated by them. In college, he can't seem to muster the courage to approach the girl he likes, who is being courted by another.
Heartbroken, Abhi ends up in a haunted house where a series of events makes him feel even more miserable. After he tries to die by suicide, the ghost of a middle-aged man not only saves him but also promises to help him win over his dream girl.
This is when the trailer gets confusing after the young woman, who is now Abhi’s girlfriend, plans a surprise for him. A new set of characters are introduced, which make for a messy subplot. The look of the film, as well as the storyline, also comes across as quite outdated.
Speaking of the film, the director said in a statement, “I am delighted to bring a light-hearted story like Family Pack to Prime Video. The film offers a fine blend of humour and drama and is peppered with endearing moments that should resonate with the viewers the world over.”
Produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar’s PRK Productions, Family Pack will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video on 17 February.
