The films Habji Gabji and Dharmajuddha, which have been helmed by Raj Chakraborty, will be released in theatres on 3 June and 12 August respectively.
Starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Subhasree Ganguly, Habji Gabji depicts how children get adversely affected when parenting is substituted with technology.
Dharmajuddha, starring Ritwick Chakraborty, Soham Chakraborty, Parno Mittra and Subhasree Ganguly, will present a stark depiction of the consequences of religious fundamentalism on the underprivileged and marginalized.
Dharmajuddha was initially supposed to hit the big screen in March 2020. The release was postponed due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of COVID-19.
After cinema halls started to function at full capacity from December 2021, the makers decided to release the film on 21 January. However, the number of COVID cases increased again at an alarming rate and the release date had to be postponed again.
The 27th Kolkata International Film Festival, which was supposed to be held between 7 and 14 January, was also called off.
