Gippy Grewal song ‘By Name’: A catchy, hip-hop-influenced tune with a stylized video

Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal’s latest music video from the album Limited Edition has been released on YouTube.

With lyrics by Guri Guri Gill and music by Wazir Patar, the hip-hop-influenced song 'By Name' features groovy beats and a stylized video.

Grewal shared the music with his fans on Instagram.

Directed by Harry Chahal, the video of 'By Name' has been shot in muted colours with electric accents that come in at different points, adding to the fun element. It has been edited by Guri Bhangu while the VFX has been done by Parvez Musapuria, who has clearly had a blast with the video effects.

Featuring model Harkirat Deol, the video includes hip-hop dancers busting a move against graffiti splattered walls to the party track. Grewal is seen posing with expensive cars and wears western as well as traditional attire, even slinging a gun on his shoulder. While the latter is pretty much standard in any Punjabi song, the music of the song is what stands out, along with the video stylization. This one will be a party track to watch out for.

The song has garnered more than 2.5 million views since its release.
