Coronavirus update: Shabana Azmi tests positive for COVID-19

Along with commoners, the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has also snared many celebrities from the film industry. Veteran award-winning actress Shabana Azmi is among the latest to test positive for COVID-19.
The 71-year-old shared with fans her diagnosis along with a photograph in an Instagram post today.
"Have tested positive for Covid today," she wrote. "Have isolated myself at home and request all those who were in close contact with me to please get tested."
Several other celebrities like designer Manish Malhotra and producer Boney Kapoor reacted to the post and wished for Azmi's speedy recovery.
On the work front, Azmi will be seen next in the Karan Johar-directed Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan. She will also be seen in the Paramount Plus web-series Halo, co-produced by Steven Spielberg.
