New release dates for Acharya, Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Bheemla Nayak announced

The makers of SS Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus RRR yesterday announced that the film will be released worldwide in cinemas on 25 March.

Following this, other star-studded Telugu films such as Acharya, Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Bheemla Nayak have also announced their release dates.

The official Twitter handle of RRR shared a new poster with 25 March as the release date.

RRR was all set to be released on 7 January but had to postponed almost at the last minute on account of the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases around the country and the shutdown of cinema halls in the national capital.

Chiranjeevi’s upcoming action drama Acharya has now been set for release in cinemas on 29 April. Matinee Entertainment, the makers of Acharya, released a statement confirming the date.

'After a healthy discussion and on mutual understanding, we would be releasing Acharya on April 29 as RRR would be hitting the screens on March 25,' the statement said.

Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which was originally slated to be released for the Sankranti festival last month, will now hit the screens on 12 May.

According to recent reports, Anil Kapoor and Vidya Balan are rumoured to be playing key roles in Sarkaru Vaari Paata. However, the makers haven’t made any official announcement yet. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh.

Meanwhile, the Pawan Kalyan- and Rana Daggubati-starrer Bheemla Nayak will be released either on 25 February or 1 April, according to the makers.

'As we have always promised, Bheemla Nayak will be a massive theatrical experience,' their statement said. 'So, we have to wait for the pandemic to subside for presenting it in the theatres for you all. We intend to release the film on Feb 25 or April 1, whenever the situation improves.'

Bheemla Nayak is the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020). Directed by Sagar Chandra, the film will see Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati sharing screen space for the first time.
