The song ‘Deva Deva’ from the tent-pole film from Dharma Productions, Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva (2022), is centered around Ranbir Kapoor's Shiva discovering his powers in this rousing number. The highly anticipated fantasy film is directed by Ayan Mukherji, as the first part of a planned trilogy.

Sung by Arijit Singh and Jonita Gandhi, the song is written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and the music is by Pritam. Kapoor, at the beginning of the video, asks Amitabh Bachchan why he is connected to the world of astras, to which the latter replies, that he himself is an astra, Agni astra. As Kapoor discovers his affinity with fire, we see him using his powers to move and control the element.

Bachchan seems to be his trainer or teacher of sorts, as one scene has him watching over Kapoor shooting balls of fire with precision. Alia Bhatt comes in towards the latter half and we see their chemistry together.

In several choreographed sequences, Kapoor is seen playing with fire and later, paying obeisance to the powers that be. There is an exuberance of colour and the special effects are beautifully incorporated, making the song a visual treat.

Produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures, Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva will release across five Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada on 9 September.
