While Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns (2022) had a decent first weekend, it saw a fall in numbers from the first weekday onwards. This indicated that the film might have a major fall on its second Friday.
The movie, however, seems to have avoided that as it made Rs1.50 crore nett yesterday, as per figures shared by the trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Starring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani, Ek Villain Retuns has reached a grand total of Rs32.60 crore. As per our trade sources, the film is made at a budget of around Rs50-60 crore.
With no Hindi film releasing in theatres this week, it has a chance of earning as much as it can in the second week. The problem is that it won’t get the whole second week since Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) and Raksha Bandhan (2022) are releasing on Thursday, 11 August.
Ek Villain Returns will stand no chance of getting noticed once the Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar-starrers hit the theatres this coming week. It would have had at least a slim visibility if only one film was scheduled to release next week.
