After acting in numerous films like The Train (2007), Ra.One (2011), Zanjeer (2013), Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns (2013), Ungli (2014), Sarbjit (2016) and Haseena Parkar (2017), Charanpreet Singh has now turned director with the movie titled Unfinished Story.

The movie will also see him play the lead role of a writer while Samridhi Chandola plays his assistant. The poster and the first look of the film was released by filmmaker Anees Bazmee last week. The songs of Unfinished Story are released by Zee Music.

Throwing light on the film’s subject, Singh told Cinestaan.com in a statement, “The film is about a disconcerted writer and his evolving relationship with his newly-hired assistant. It’s a journey of discovery and remembrance for the duo as they go about completing the unfinished stories, both fictional and their own.”

He added that despite this being his first film as a director, he was aware about a few aspects of direction. “I am watching cinema since [I was a teenager]. The experience of directing and acting at the same time was challenging but it was amazing learning and evolving process as I have never been to a film school or assisted anyone. I was inspired from Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles,” he added.

Singh was a part of an important moment with Shah Rukh Khan in Ra.One where he had to kick the star in a scene. “Shah Rukh sir is really a king as per his nickname,” he said. “He gave so many tips on acting and he used to call my name as he remembered after many days of shooting. There is much to learn from him while working with him. I was so nervous to kick our idol SRK sir. But he took me aside and made me comfortable.”

Singh has also worked as a dialect coach for Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez in A Flying Jatt (2016), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda for Sarbjit and Arjun Kapoor for Mubarakan (2017)
