The blockbuster action film Pushpa - The Rise: Part 1 (2021) starring Allu Arjun, the legal drama Gargi (2022) directed by Gautham Ramachandran, and the biopic Sardar Udham (2021) directed by Shoojit Sircar are some of the films from India that will be screened at the ongoing Moscow International Film Festival.
The sci-fi feature Prappeda (Hawk’s Muffin, 2022), directed by Krishnendu Kalesh, Manipuri-language film Nine Hills One Valley by Haobam Paban Kumar, the triptych Powai (2021) by Kuldip Patel, the docu-fiction The Road To Kuthriyar (2021) by Bharat Mirle, and short film Pataal-tee (Holy Water) by Mukund Narayan are amongst the other films that will be screened at the festival.
The Embassy of India in Moscow shared a post on Instagram detailing the films being screened at the festival.
Besides these, a selection of films directed by auteur Satyajit Ray are also part of the selection. Mahanagar (1963), Charulata (1964), Mahapurush (1965), Kapurush (1965), Nayak (1966), and Joi Baba Felunath (1979) have been chosen as part of the section titled The Song of Indian Roads.
The Moscow International Film Festival is being held from 26 August to 2 September.
