Tanaav teaser: SonyLIV’s show on Kashmir promises to be hard-hitting

SonyLIV has explored Kashmir’s militancy through the two seasons of its web-series Avrodh. The platform is now all set to throw light on the issue in the valley at the grass-root level through the inner workings of the terrorists in its latest thriller Tanaav (2022). 

The teaser of the show directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sachin Mamta Krishn has an impressive build up. A group of people are relaxing in a café based in Kashmir, looking forward to a cosy evening. But a woman enters and the whole place goes up in flames. There can’t be peace in the valley as the voiceover in the end says, [translated], “This is Kashmir. Nothing is going to end here.” 

Tanaav has a long list of ensemble cast that includes Manav Vij, Arbaaz Khan, Sumit Kaul, Rajat Kapoor, Shashank Arora, Zarina Wahab, Ekta Kaul, Waluscha De Sousa, Danish Hussain, Satyadeep Mishra among others. 

Apart from dealing with the issue from the ground level, Tanaav also appears promising in terms of its visuals. The bird’s-eye view of the location in the beginning sets the mood. On the other hand, the heart-wrenching moment at the end indicates that the show will also focus on the emotional aspect of the turmoil in the valley.
