Milind Soman joins the cast of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
Ranaut, who has written and directed the film, revealed Soman as the latest cast member. Introducing him, she stated, "Presenting the dynamic Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw, the man instrumental for saving India’s frontiers during the Indo-Pak war and whose service was as distinguished as his honesty; a charmer, a war hero and a visionary leader in Emergency."
Prior to Soman's announcement, Ranaut had revealed Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar. The actress-turned-filmmaker plays the late prime minister Indira Gandhi in the film.
Soman also shared his first look as Manekshaw and added that he was honoured to join the film.

Incidentally, Vicky Kaushal will also be playing Manekshaw in Meghana Gulzar’s biopic Sam Bahadur which is currently under production.
With a story by Ranaut, the screenplay and dialogues have been written by Ritesh Shah. Emergency is produced by Renu Pitti and Ranaut.
