Actor Akash Shetty Tuptewar is all set to be launched with the upcoming Marathi movie Raada. The action film is written and directed by the first-time filmmaker Ritesh Sopanrao Narwade, and produced by Ram Shetty.
The motion poster of the film, which also works as a teaser, indicates that the movie is very much on the lines of the south Indian masala action films from the Tamil and Telugu industries.
Tuptewar plays an action-oriented role of a youngster named Sama. The rest of the cast will be revealed later. For now, the makers have said that the film is a mixture of action, comedy and romance.
Speaking about his debut film, Tuptewar said in a statement, “My dream of many years will finally come true through Raada and this makes me very happy. The credit for the commencement of my film journey goes to my uncle [Ram Shetty], who is the film’s producer. He is known as a businessman and singer from Nanded, Marathwada. He is now making his debut as a producer.”
About his bond with the director, he stated, “Director Ritesh sir took good care of me. He helped me understand the process of filmmaking which was new for me as it’s my first film. With our journey of the shoot getting over, the film will soon be released in Maharashtra. I only hope to always have the blessings of the audience.”
Raada is due to be released in theatres on 23 September.
