After appearing in Acharya (2022) with son Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi returns for his upcoming film Godfather (2022) where he teams up with Salman Khan.
The teaser for upcoming action film, directed by Mohan Raja, was unveiled on the south star’s 67th birthday, 21 August. The Telugu film is a remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Lucifer (2019).
The teaser takes us through the mysterious return of the ‘Godfather’ who has risen to such power after his disappearance for two decades. It is but natural that Chiranjeevi’s Godfather will pick up a few enemies along the way, including some top opponents in power.
Salman Khan makes his Telugu debut with the film as the Godfather’s key ally who is there to back him every step of the way. The film also stars Nayanthara, Puri Jagannadh, and Satya Dev who we see in brief glimpses.
While the film does not boast any major action sequences as yet, there is a curiosity about the new pairing of Chiranjeevi and Khan on the screen. Moreover, as there is also a sequel to the original Malayalam film recently announced, it will interesting to see if this version replicates that success.
Written by Lakshmi Bhupala and featuring music by Thaman S, Godfather is due to be released in theatres on 5 October.
