Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, husband Anand welcome their first child

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her husband Anand Ahuja have welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on 20 August.

The actress’s father, veteran actor Anil Kapoor, revealed the happy news on social media, with a video announcement on the baby’s arrival.

The couple, who were wed in May 2018, had announced this March that they were expecting. The elated parents also put up a message thanking "the doctors, nurses, friends and family who have supported us on this journey". They added, "It's only the beginning, but we know our lives are forever changed."

Sonam recently made riotously funny appearance on the sixth episode of the popular talk show Koffee With Karan (Season 7) with cousin Arjun Kapoor.

She last appeared in the meta thriller AK Vs AK (2020), playing herself alongside father Anil and brother Harshvardhan Kapoor. The actress has already shot for the crime thriller Blind, produced by Sujoy Ghosh and directed by Shome Makhija. A remake of the 2011 South Korean film of the same name, the film is yet to be released.
