Jogi teaser: Emotional drama to revisit the events of October 1984


The film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Kumud Mishra, Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani and Amyra Dastur, will look at the bonds of friendship in times of adversity.

The upcoming Netflix film Jogi (2022) is takes place on 31 October 1984, as the anti-Sikh riots broke out in the nation’s capital.

Starring Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role, the Punjabi singer-actor plays an ordinary man residing with his family, who finds himself having to choose to leave his home or stay and hide.

Proded by Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Kishan Mehra, and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Jogi also Kumud Mishra, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Hiten Tejwani and Amyra Dastur.

The teaser does not show Ayyub’s character, but one can hear him advise Dosanjh to leave before the situation gets out of hand. Dosanjh’s character insists on staying. Will the decision prove to be costly?

The emotional drama will follow the resilient friendship of a trio in times of adversity. Jogi is due to be premiered on Netflix on 16 September.
