Prithviraj Sukumaran will return to direct the Lucifer (2019) sequel Empuraan with Mohanlal headlining the film.
The actor made his directorial debut with Lucifer, also co-starring Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran and himself.

Lucifer screenwriter Murali Gopy has also returned for the screenplay of Empuraan. The rest of the films’s details are still to be confirmed.
The producers also released a behind-the-scenes look at the project announcement which indicated that there might be a third part of the film series and several stars from the south industry could be roped in for the film.
Prithviraj and Mohanlal recently worked together on the family comedy, Bro Daddy (2021), which was once again directed by the younger actor.
