Elnaaz Norouzi enters Marathi cinema with Takatak 2 song ‘Hrudayi Vasant Phultana’

Just last week, news about actress Daisy Shah doing a song number in Daagdi Chaawl 2 (2022) came out. Now, it’s the turn of Elnaaz Norouzi, another actress from the Hindi arena, to do a dance number in another Marathi film, Takatak 2 (2022). 

The track is the remix of the hit old number ‘Hridayi Vasant Phultana’ from the iconic multi-starrer Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1988). The song features the entire main cast – Ashok Saraf, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Laxmikant Berde, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Ashwini Bhave, Siddharth and Priya Arun – shake a leg. Sachin was also the film's director. 

The remix, however, is an item number lip-synced by Nourozi while Prathamesh Parab and the rest of the cast members match steps with her. The track is sung by Shruti Rane and composed by Varun Likhate. Jai Atre has provided the additional lyrics. 

The remixed song is peppy and forces us to tap our feet along to the tune. But it is no match to the original, which remains a classic even today. It is also questionable to convert a family-friendly song into an adult number. 

This is the second time in recent years that an old Marathi song has been remixed in a new film. Ye Re Ye Re Paisa 2 (2019) saw the remix of the classic track ‘Ashwini Ye Na’ from Gammat Jammat (1987). That song was also picturized on Saraf and the movie was also directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar. 

Directed by Milind Zumber Kavde, Takatak 2 will be releasing in theatres on 18 August.
