Actor Aryeman Ramsay is helming his debut documentary, The Land Of Ahimsa (2022), a title India is known for. The documentary is produced by Dolly Ahuja while Game Of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn is the film’s executive producer.
Throwing light on the subject, an official statement from the makers stated, “The documentary brings you on a journey to understand the origins of ahimsa [non-violence] with experts on environment, nutrition, spirituality and advocacy to illustrate the importance of ahimsa in action in India with the intention that this will resonate across the globe.”
Sharing his experience of shooting the film, Aryeman said, “This is my first documentary. Dolly Ahuja and Mayur Ahuja happen to be our family friends and they wanted me to direct this film. Later I got to know the executive producer for this is none other than Jerome Flynn, the actor from Game Of Thrones. So [I] was really excited.”
He shared that during the shoot of the documentary, he saw a major change in his son. “This is a documentary shot like a film,” said Aryeman. “There is a very big question in this film as [it's] titled The Land Of Ahimsa. The question is, ‘Is India the land of Ahimsa?’ The experience of directing this film has been crazy. My 10-year-old son turned vegetarian after attending the shoot for just two days.”
About being associated with the documentary, Flynn said, “After watching this documentary I am sure there will be a beautiful change that our hearts are longing for and we will surely create an amazing world for our future generations.”
Son of the late producer Keshu Ramsay, Aryeman made his acting debut with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Family (2006), which also starred Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. He acted in a few more films; the last was Riyasat (2014).
