Karan Johar wraps up shoot of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani

Karan Johar wrapped up the shoot of his latest directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani today. The film, which has an ensemble cast comprising Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi, went on the floors in August last year.

The makers marked the announcement via a video, which was shared on YouTube. It shows a grand wrap-up party thrown by Johar in the presence of the entire cast, except Alia Bhatt and Jaya Bachchan, and the crew members. Bhatt joined in the celebrations through a video call. 

Speaking at the event, Singh said, “I always wanted to do a Karan Johar movie. I always wanted to do a Dharma movie. Little did I know that my first Dharma movie would be directed by the boss himself.” While it’s true that this is the first time that Johar has directed the actor, the latter has already done a Dharma movie — Rohit Shetty’s Simmba (2018). 

In a video of the same event shared by Dharmendra on Instagram, Johar was seen saying, “We are blessed that he [Dharmendra] is a part of the movie. We are blessed to have his blessings. We love you and we can't thank you enough for being a part of our cinema.” 

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be released on 10 February 2023.
