Director Arindam Sil has started shooting his upcoming film Iskaboner Bibi.
Starring Arunima Ghosh, Trina Saha, Parambrata Chatterjee and Gourab Chatterjee, the film has been adapted from Piyush Shah’s story The Simple Girl from his book Girls of Mumbaistan: Three Thrilling Novellas of Love and Revenge.
Actress Poulomi Das and Arna Mukhopadhyay will also play crucial roles in the film.
Iskaboner Bibi narrates how three characters. played by Ghosh, Saha and Das, get entangled in a crime. Gourab will be seen as a police officer while Parambrata’s character is yet to be revealed by the makers.
Iskaboner Bibi marks Parambrata and Gourab’s first collaboration with the director. According to a report in Anandabazar Patrika, a Bengali newspaper, Sil will start shooting his untitled Byomkesh Bakshi film after Iskaboner Bibi is wrapped up.
Sil’s Mahananda, based on the life and works of author and activist Mahasweta Devi, will be released in theatres on 8 April.
