The Punjabi-language film Main Te Bapu, directed by Uday Pratap Singh and written by Jagdeep Warring, is a family comedy that features the love-hate relationship between a father and son, played by Satish Verma and Parmish Verma. The film also stars Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sunita Dhir, Sukhwinder Chahal and Gurmeet Sajan.

The trailer begins with beautiful family photographs of father and son, highlighting the beautiful relationship that the two share. The voiceover tells us that the son is the image of his father while the patriarch stands before his offspring like a shield, protecting him from all harm. However, we see the father and son, fighting like cats and dogs, hurling things at each other!

Parmish Verma is in love with Sanjeeda Sheikh and wishes to marry her but her family places the condition that the groom must move to Canada after marriage. This creates conflict between father and son and the former is convinced that he needs to remarry in order for his son to experience a mother’s love. Thus begins the search for a bride for the father, while the son’s marriage and future hang in the balance.

The father’s choices create conflict in the son’s life and the trailer features many hilarious moments. It also stresses the love shared between the two despite all differences, making this a family comedy.

Main Te Bapu is presented by Omjee Star Studios and Parmish Verma Films and produced by Parmish Verma, Ashu Munish Sahni, Sukhan Verma and Aniket Kawade.

The film is set to be released theatrically on 22 April.
